Beyond the Exhibition: Commitment from a First Encounter to a Long-Term Supply Chain Partne

TENGXIANG Leather Exhibition Record: Showcasing at CISLI and APLF with Bulk Production Standards

Anyone in foreign trade and supply chains knows that in the synthetic leather industry, looking at samples at an exhibition is one thing, but receiving bulk goods back at the factory is often another. To break this “information gap” and to meet with old and new clients from home and abroad, TENGXIANG Leather has made exhibition participation a routine part of our work over the past two years. Whether it’s the China International Leather Fair (CISLI in Shanghai) or the Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF) we attend in Hong Kong, our goal is straightforward: to bring the actual bulk production rolls running in our factory directly to the booth, letting clients see our real production capabilities.

A large portion of the audience at CISLI are purchasers from domestic bag, sofa, and footwear factories. When they visit the booth, their main concern isn’t how “premium” the material sounds, but whether the thickness is accurate, the color is stable, and the peeling strength is sufficient. That’s why our setup at CISLI is very practical. We don’t use flashy backdrops; it’s just a few walls of standard swatch books, along with rolls of PVC and semi-PU spot samples.
When clients arrive, our sales staff don’t talk fluff. We take out micrometers to measure thickness, compare swatches for color difference, and rub the material by hand to check for color rubbing off. Many clients place trial orders right on the spot simply because of this pragmatic approach where “the bulk looks exactly like the booth display.” For us, CISLI is a touchstone for testing our basic quality control and delivery capabilities.
If CISLI is our training ground, then APLF in Hong Kong is our main front for connecting with overseas markets. It’s worth mentioning here that TENGXIANG Leather is an Official Member of the Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF). For us, this status isn’t just an admission ticket; it’s a constant reminder to keep a close eye on the environmental requirements and basic physical standards of the international market.
At APLF, the clients seeking us out are mostly foreign trade buyers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and even Europe and America. When they look at materials, they often start by asking about environmental tests and flex resistance data. Targeting these hard metrics, we brought high-flexibility soft PU and anti-yellowing light-colored samples. Right at the booth, we let clients fold and knead our PU leather to see if the surface cracks or turns white. Meanwhile, we lay out accelerated aging test reports and inspection sheets complying with international environmental standards on the table, going over the data with clients item by item. As an APLF member, we know exactly what overseas clients fear and what they need, so we only provide the most pragmatic solutions and real ex-factory data.
The real test begins after the exhibition ends. Many peers make great promises at the show but cut corners when producing bulk goods back at the factory. TENGXIANG’s rule is simple: the A4 sample card you took away at CISLI or APLF, the hand feel and color you confirmed, are exactly the standards for our subsequent production scheduling.
Whether for domestic or export, making basic materials relies on the word “stability.” If you missed our recent exhibitions, it doesn’t matter. Contact our sales department anytime, and we will send you the latest batch of standard swatch books and A4 samples directly, letting you experience the same sincerity and quality in your office as you would at our exhibition booth.
